Google Business Profile Reviews Integration

RLC Reviews is a WordPress plugin that lets site administrators connect a Google account that manages a Google Business Profile, and then display that business’s public Google reviews on their website.

This integration uses Google OAuth and the Google Business Profile APIs to retrieve location and review data for display only.

What RLC Reviews does

RLC Reviews helps organizations display Google Business Profile reviews on their WordPress website using a block inside the WordPress editor. After an administrator connects a Google account with access to the organization’s Google Business Profile, the plugin retrieves reviews and shows them on selected pages.

Who this is for

This app/integration is intended for website administrators and organizations that manage one or more Google Business Profiles. It is not a consumer-facing sign-in product.

Google data we access and why

When an administrator connects their Google account, the integration requests access so it can:

  • List Business Profile locations associated with the selected account (so an admin can choose the correct location)
  • Retrieve reviews for the selected location (so those reviews can be displayed on the website)

The integration does **not** post, edit, or delete Business Profile content. It uses the access strictly to read the location and review information needed to render the reviews block on the site.

Google OAuth scope usage

RLC Reviews uses Google OAuth to obtain tokens that allow API calls to the Google Business Profile APIs. The scope requested is:

  • `https://www.googleapis.com/auth/business.manage`

This scope is used only to fetch Business Profile **locations and reviews** for display on the website.

Data storage and retention

  • OAuth access/refresh tokens are stored in the WordPress site’s database so the site can refresh access when needed.
  • Review data may be cached locally to improve performance and reduce API calls.
  • If configured, a last-known-good backup of review data may be stored so reviews can continue to display if Google API access is temporarily unavailable.

We do not sell Google user data. We do not use Google user data for advertising.

Sharing and disclosure

Reviews displayed by this integration are shown on the website pages where the site administrator chooses to place the reviews block.

Location data is used for configuration/selection by administrators.

Security

  • Google API requests are made over HTTPS.
  • Administrative settings are intended to be accessible only to site administrators.

User controls

Site administrators can disconnect the integration at any time by clearing saved tokens in the plugin settings and/or revoking the app’s access from their Google Account settings.

  • Primary API calls: list locations; fetch reviews for a selected location.
  • Data accessed: Business Profile location fields (name/title/address metadata) and review fields (rating, text, reviewer display name/photo if provided by Google).
